The worst way to negotiate (avoid looking foolish)

Every now and then someone joins my live video calls on social media (that are free) and says, “If you don’t talk about blahblah marketing tactic, I’m leaving.”


Threat-based negotiation tactics only work when you’re in a position of power. If one person, out of the tens of thousands of people, who join my live calls threatens to leave, it doesn’t make any difference.

The lesson here is to NEVER exert dominance during negotiation unless you’re in a position to do so.

An out-of-shape dude who’s 5’1” and 100 pounds isn’t going to threaten Rome — who’s 6’7” and 315 pounds with 22” biceps. Things just don’t work like that.
